Here you may find few useful tips to stay awake when in traffic:
If you already feel tired or sick, don’t drive
- Plan your routeplan beforehand
- Adjust your driving position to be straight and ergonomic but not too comfortable
- Have a pause at least every 2 to 3 hours
- For a snack have a sandwich or fruits
- Avoid meals with too much carbohydrates which can cause tiredness
- When you have a break wash your face with fresh water and enjoy beverages with caffeine and vitamins
- You may recognize your tiredness of driving too fast or doing sudden and unnecessary steering movements
- You should remember that people are most tired after lunch or at night between one and five o’clock
- Discuss with your companion or listen to the radio
- When necessary park your car and do some exercise which increases blood circulation and cheers you up
- Try to have a short nap. Park your car safely and take a nap of 15 to 20 minutes
- You may ask your partner to drive instead
- Try to have a good night sleep
